Tour Itinerary
Your day starts with an early pickup from select hotels in the Phoenix, Scottsdale, or Tempe area. The drive crosses the expansive Sonoran Desert, where native saguaro cactus gradually gives way to higher country and the deep green of the Ponderosa Pine Forest—the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world. You'll pass the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and catch views of the San Francisco Peaks rising above the pine forest.
The day includes time in Sedona and at the Grand Canyon South Rim, with the guide setting the sequence based on the group and conditions. In Sedona, enjoy a scenic drive through Oak Creek Canyon, a photo stop at Bell Rock, and approximately 30 minutes in Uptown Sedona to walk the shops, take in the red rock views, and soak up the atmosphere.
At Grand Canyon National Park, you'll have approximately three hours to take in the South Rim. Part of the park visit is guided, with additional time set aside for independent exploring. The tour includes several viewpoints plus time in Grand Canyon Village, where you can stroll the rim, browse the shops, visit El Tovar and Hopi House, and capture unlimited photographs. After the park visit, the return trip heads back to the Valley in the evening.
