Tour Itinerary

The day begins with an early morning pickup from your Phoenix or Scottsdale hotel, moving north through the Black Canyon Corridor. As we ascend toward Flagstaff, the landscape shifts from cacti to pine forests before we reach the vast, open plateaus of the Navajo Nation for a stop at a historic trading post.

Upon arriving in Page, we stop for a casual lunch before heading to the Lower Antelope Canyon trailhead. You will spend roughly one hour exploring the canyon with your Navajo guide, followed by a 1.5 mile round-trip walk to the Horseshoe Bend overlook, eventually returning to the Valley of the Sun by mid-to-late evening.

Requirements

• Skill Level: Moderate physical activity. This tour is not strenuous but requires steady, careful footing, balance, gripping, and walking.
• Minimum Age: 3 years old.
• Walking: Approximately 2 miles on sandy paths and uneven sandstone; the Horseshoe Bend portion is a 1.5 mile round-trip walk on a dirt path with no shade.
• Elevation: Requires climbing steep metal ladders and stairs with railings.
• Physical Requirements: You must be able to walk on slanted, uneven sandstone and loose sand and climb steep metal ladders/stairs. Some canyon sections are narrow and may not be suitable for guests with claustrophobia.
• Special Requirements: No bags, purses, backpacks, tripods, or hiking poles allowed in the canyon. Service animals and strollers cannot be accommodated on the canyon floor.

Season & Departure Times

This expedition is available year-round. Public tours depart on Thursdays and Saturdays only; a minimum number of participants is required. Private tours are available 7 days a week. Pickups typically occur between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM (may depart slightly earlier depending on your pickup location) to ensure we arrive in Page for prime lighting, with return times scheduled between 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM.

Important Notes

RESERVATIONS REQUIRED: To minimize city driving, pickup locations are optimized and confirmed the day prior to departure. Departures are from select hotels in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe; in some cases you may be asked to meet at another nearby hotel, and our office will contact you upon booking.

Weather Closure Note: In rare occasions, Lower Antelope Canyon will close due to unforeseen weather events. Although we closely monitor the weather, sometimes the closure is beyond our control and happens last minute. If this occurs, we will try to get tickets for UPPER Antelope Canyon but this will incur an additional fee of up to $60/person. You will be able to opt out of the Antelope portion if you do not wish to pay this extra fee but you will NOT be refunded for the overall tour, except for the $73/person Lower Antelope ticket.
