Tour Itinerary

Your journey begins at the Deer Valley Airport - Balloon Ride Parking Area (702 W. Deer Valley Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85027) unless you have arranged optional round-trip hotel transfers. Upon arrival, you can watch the professional crew prepare the hot air balloon, an impressive process as the envelope inflates and stands tall against the afternoon sky. Once the pilot clears the flight basket for boarding, you will climb in and prepare for a gentle ascent.

During the flight, you will drift over desert washes and mountain foothills at 2,000 to 5,000 feet, spotting local wildlife and enjoying the Arizona sunset. Look for landmarks such as Downtown Phoenix, Camelback Mountain, Lake Pleasant, and State Farm Stadium in the distance. After landing, the crew sets up a celebratory table in the brush. You will enjoy hors d'oeuvres and champagne while the pilot shares the history of ballooning, before returning to your original departure point.

Pricing

$259 per person for the adult shared afternoon flight.

Requirements

• Skill Level: No prior experience required; easy physical activity.
• Minimum Age: 5 years old and at least 48 inches tall.
• Walking: Minimal walking over level, rocky desert terrain.
• Elevation: Flights typically reach altitudes of 2,000 to 5,000 feet.
• Special Requirements: Must be able to climb in/out of the basket unaided. No pregnant guests or guests with recent surgery or broken bones. All passengers must complete a waiver before the tour.

Season & Departure Times

Afternoon balloon tours are available seasonally from November 1 through March 15. Meeting time is approximately 2 1/2 hours prior to sunset. Typical duration is 3-4 hours without hotel transfers and 4-5 hours with hotel transfers.
