Set out on a guided stand-up paddleboard tour across Saguaro Lake, where you will paddle through a dramatic desert reservoir and look for bald eagles or desert bighorn sheep along the rugged volcanic cliffs.

Your adventure kicks off at the Butcher Jones Recreation Site, where you will meet an expert guide for a comprehensive safety briefing and professional gear fitting. After an on-shore orientation designed to help you master essential paddleboarding techniques, you will launch your board into the pristine, calm waters of Saguaro Lake. This initial phase ensures every paddler feels confident and prepared to navigate the stunning desert reservoir ahead.
As you glide through the water, we will keep a close watch for majestic bald eagles and desert bighorn sheep tucked among the towering volcanic cliffs. The excursion offers two to two and a half hours of active paddling surrounded by the iconic scenery of the Superstition Mountains. You will eventually loop back to the Butcher Jones meeting point, finishing your journey with a deep appreciation for this unique Arizona ecosystem.

Tours are available year-round. Available Monday - Friday. Regular departures are at 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM, with summer departures at 7:30 AM to beat the heat.
