Tour Itinerary
Your guided hiking adventure begins with a pickup from your Phoenix or Scottsdale hotel. We’ll drive to the South Mountain Park trailhead, where your guide will lead you through a pre-hike safety briefing and gear check before we set out on the trail.
The hike takes you through the iconic Sonoran Desert landscape, featuring towering Saguaro cacti, diverse wildlife, and stunning panoramic views. You’ll explore the unique geological formations of Hidden Valley, where early settlers hid their livestock, and navigate the narrow, rocky passage of Fat Man’s Pass. Along the way, your guide will share insights into the area’s rich history, from the Hohokam people to the homesteaders who followed.
After reaching a scenic overlook, we’ll break for a snack and water before beginning the return journey. The tour concludes with a comfortable transfer back to your hotel, leaving you with a deeper appreciation for Arizona’s natural beauty and history.

Groups of 8+ incur an automatic 15% gratuity.

Requirements
- Skill Level: Moderate. The trail involves some rocky terrain and mild elevation changes.
- Minimum Age: 10 years old.
- Walking: Approximately 3 miles on a natural surface trail.
- Attire: Sturdy, closed-toe shoes with good tread are required. No sandals or flip-flops.
