What is the morning tour like?
This is a relaxing guided kayaking float along the Salt River, featuring lush riverbanks, red cliffs, and the possibility of seeing wild horses and bald eagles.
What is the sunset tour like?
Drift into golden hour on a guided sunset kayak tour along the Lower Salt River. As the desert cools and the sky shifts into twilight, you’ll float through glowing cliffs, lush riverbanks, and vibrant evening wildlife.
Will we see wild horses?
Wild horses often frequent the Salt River, but sightings are not guaranteed.
How long are the tours?
Both tours include approximately 1.5–2 hours on the water.
Where do the tours take place?
The route varies between sections of the Salt River, from Saguaro Lake to Granite Reef, chosen daily based on water levels.
Are these guided tours?
Yes. All tours are led by skilled and certified guides.
REQUIREMENTS
What are the size requirements?
Guests must weigh at least 35 lbs. Maximum participant weight is 275 lbs.
What skill level is required?
Both tours are gentle, relaxing floats suitable for beginners.
GEAR & EQUIPMENT
What equipment is provided?
Inflatable kayaks, paddles, safety equipment, snacks, bottled water, a parking pass, and roundtrip transportation from check-in to the drop-in point are included.
Should I bring anything?
Wear shoes that can get wet and won’t fall off, dress for the weather, and bring sunscreen, a hat, and a waterproof camera. For sunset tours, bring a light jacket or layer for cooler evening temperatures.

When are tours available?
Both tours operate year-round with prior reservation.
What are the morning tour departure times?
May 1–September 14: 7:30 AM only. September 15–April 30: 10:00 AM only.
What are the sunset tour departure times?
January–February: 3:00 PM–6:00 PM. March–May 15: 4:00 PM–7:00 PM. May 16–August: 5:00 PM–8:00 PM. September 1–15: 4:00 PM–7:00 PM. September 16–December: 6:30 PM–8:00 PM.
RESERVATIONS
Are reservations required?
Yes, reservations are required for all tours.
CANCELLATION POLICY
What is the cancellation policy?
You may cancel up to 72 hours before your tour for a full refund. Cancellations within 72 hours are non-refundable. All cancellations must be submitted in writing and must receive written confirmation to be valid.
