Tour Overview

Paddle the calm, clear waters of Saguaro Lake on a guided, beginner-friendly paddleboard tour beneath the rugged Superstition Mountains, with views of Four Peaks and Sonoran Desert wildlife along the shoreline.

Duration: 2-2.5 hours on the water

Tour Highlights

  • Beginner-Friendly Waters: Calm, protected water makes this an ideal first paddleboard experience - go from your first kneeling strokes to standing tall on the board.
  • Iconic Desert Scenery: Glide across glass-like waters with sweeping views of the Superstition Mountains and Four Peaks.
  • Sonoran Desert Wildlife: The quiet glide of a paddleboard brings close-up looks at desert wildlife and birds along the shoreline.
  • Secluded Coves & Volcanic Cliffs: Explore hidden coves and dramatic cliff lines that define the Saguaro Lake coastline.

Tour Itinerary

Your paddleboard adventure begins at the designated tour location at Saguaro Lake. We start by fitting everyone for a personal flotation device, reviewing basic water safety, and covering SUP fundamentals on shore before we launch.

From the shoreline, your guide shows you how to launch while kneeling, move away from shore, stand up on the board, and get comfortable paddling and steering. Once the group is ready, we head into open water to explore the Sonoran Desert lake environment, take in views of the rugged Superstition Mountains, and watch for desert wildlife and birds along the way. Because full immersion is possible, properly secured footwear is required and a change of clothes is recommended for after the paddle.

After completing the paddle, we'll load up the boards and head back. The tour concludes at the designated tour location, leaving you with memories of an amazing day on the water.
