This is a guided casual e-bike tour that explores Tempe Town Lake, the Greenbelt, green spaces, and historic desert canals. Your safety-certified guide leads the ride at a comfortable pace, sharing interesting facts about the history of the Valley of the Sun and the wildlife that lives in the local green spaces. The tour is designed to be both fun and educational.

How long does the tour last?
The cycling time is 1.5–2 hours. Plan for approximately 2 hours total to allow for check-in, bike fitting, and a brief safety orientation before you ride.

What will I see on this tour?
You’ll ride along Tempe Town Lake, cruise the paved Greenbelt path, pass through green spaces, and follow historic desert canals. Your guide will point out local wildlife and share facts about the area’s history along the way.

Is this tour suitable for first-time e-bike riders?
Yes. The tour is beginner to advanced and is great for first-time e-bike riders. The route follows flat, paved bike paths, and your guide will walk you through how to operate the e-bike before you depart.

Is this tour educational?
Yes. Your guide provides interesting facts about the history of the Valley of the Sun and the wildlife found in the local green spaces throughout the ride.


MEETING POINT & DEPARTURE

Where does the tour depart from?
The tour departs from our Tempe Shop. Exact address and directions are provided in your confirmation email after booking.

What are the departure times?
Morning departures typically occur between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Afternoon departures run between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Your specific departure time will be confirmed at booking.

Is the tour available every day?
Yes. Tours are available Monday through Sunday, year-round, weather permitting.

What if I’m running late to the meeting point?
We recommend arriving at least 10–15 minutes before your scheduled departure to allow time for check-in and bike fitting. If you’re running late, contact us as soon as possible. Late arrivals may not be able to join the tour once it has departed.


GEAR & EQUIPMENT

What equipment is included?
Every guest receives a casual e-bike, helmet, and gloves for the duration of the tour. Snacks and bottled water are also included.

Do I need to bring my own bike or helmet?
No. All equipment is provided, including the e-bike, helmet, and gloves. Just show up ready to ride.

What type of e-bikes do you use?
We use casual e-bikes that are comfortable and easy to operate. They feature pedal-assist, which means the motor helps you pedal – you control the effort level. Your guide will explain how everything works before you head out.


REQUIREMENTS & WHAT TO BRING

What is the minimum age for this tour?
Participants must be at least 12 years old. Please contact us for specific height requirements regarding the e-bikes.

What should I wear?
Closed-toe shoes are required. Comfortable athletic clothing is recommended. Avoid loose or flowing garments that could interfere with the bike.

What should I bring?
Bring sun protection such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. Also bring a camera and any personal medications you may need. Snacks and bottled water are provided.

Do I need prior cycling experience?
No prior experience is required. The tour is designed for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. The flat, paved paths and pedal-assist e-bikes make the ride accessible to virtually everyone.


WEATHER & BEST TIME TO RIDE

What is the best time of year for this tour?
The tour runs year-round. The most comfortable riding months are October through April, when daytime highs in Tempe typically range from 66°F to 88°F. Summer months (June–August) bring highs above 100°F, so morning departures are strongly recommended during that period.

What happens if the weather is bad?
Tours operate weather permitting. If safety issues, weather, or other circumstances beyond our control require changes, your guide will adjust the route or timing accordingly. If a tour must be cancelled due to weather, our team will work with you on rescheduling or cancellation options.

How hot does it get in Tempe during summer?
Summer highs in Tempe regularly exceed 100°F, with July averaging around 106°F. If you’re riding during summer, choose a morning departure, apply sunscreen generously, and hydrate before and during the ride. Snacks and bottled water are included with the tour.

Is there shade along the route?
The paths around Tempe Town Lake and the Greenbelt are mostly open with limited natural shade. Wearing sun protection – sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat – is recommended regardless of season.


ROUTE & TERRAIN

What kind of terrain is the route?
The entire route follows flat, paved bike paths. The Greenbelt path and the paths around Tempe Town Lake are well-maintained, smooth, and suitable for all skill levels. Most road crossings along the Greenbelt use tunnels or bridges, so there is minimal interaction with traffic.

How far do we ride?
The distance covered varies depending on the group’s pace and the specific route for the day. The cycling time is 1.5–2 hours on flat, paved paths with pedal-assist e-bikes, so you’ll cover a good amount of ground comfortably.

Can the route change?
Yes. Every attempt is made to adhere to the planned itinerary, but safety issues, weather, or other circumstances beyond our control may result in unexpected route changes.


WILDLIFE & NATURE

What wildlife might I see along the route?
The green spaces around Tempe Town Lake and the Greenbelt are home to a variety of birds and desert wildlife. Visitors commonly spot herons, geese, and hummingbirds near the water, along with lizards and roadrunners in drier sections. Your guide will point out wildlife and share facts about the species that live in the area.

Are there restrooms along the route?
Yes. The parks along the Greenbelt and around Tempe Town Lake have public restrooms and water fountains available. Your guide can make stops as needed.


PRICING & PRIVATE TOURS

How much does the tour cost?
The tour is $105 per person for groups of 1–9 participants. This includes a safety-certified guide, casual e-bike, helmet, gloves, snacks, bottled water, insurance, permits, and entry fees.

Are private tours available?
Yes. Private tour requests can be arranged for an additional $200 per activity.

Is transportation to the meeting point included?
Transportation is not included in the base price. It is available as an add-on for $250 per activity.

Are gratuities included?
Gratuities are not included in the tour price and are appreciated for great service.


RESERVATIONS & CANCELLATION

Do I need a reservation?
Yes. Reservations are required for this tour. Book online through our website to secure your spot.

What is the cancellation policy?
This tour has a 72-hour cancellation policy. Please read your confirmation email for full details.

What if I need to reschedule?
Contact us as soon as possible if you need to change your tour date. We will do our best to accommodate schedule changes, subject to availability. Rescheduling within the 72-hour cancellation window may be subject to the cancellation policy.


SAFETY & ACCESSIBILITY

Are the guides certified?
Yes. All tours are led by professional safety-certified guides who provide a safety orientation and bike fitting before departure.

Is a helmet required?
Yes. Helmets are provided and required for all riders.

Is there cell service along the route?
Yes. The route runs through urban Tempe, so you can expect reliable cell service throughout the ride.

Is this tour accessible for riders with limited mobility?
The tour is conducted on flat, paved paths using pedal-assist e-bikes, which makes riding easier. However, participants must be able to mount, operate, and dismount an e-bike independently.
