Last Light on the Trail
Departures track the sunset by season, so the high points and photo stops land in the desert's golden hour.
Guided Desert Trails
A professional trail guide leads the Tonto National Forest route through washes, climbs, and rocky shelf sections.
Safety Gear Included
DOT-certified helmet, protective goggles, neck gaiter, ice water, and trail snacks are provided.
The Experience
You meet your guide at our Tonto National Forest staging grounds on Cline Cabin Road, off the Fort McDowell corridor, and gear up with DOT-certified helmets, goggles, and gaiters while the light starts to soften. After a controls briefing you thumb the throttle on your own automatic single-rider ATV and drop into the backcountry beneath Four Peaks. The route threads sand washes, rocky shelf step-ups, and open hardpack past saguaro, climbing to a high point timed for the evening glow, where the engines cut and the cameras come out. You roll back into staging as the sun drops behind the range, dusty and warm, with the desert already cooling around you.

Essential Tour FAQs
Where do we meet, and when should we arrive? ▼
Staging is at the designated Sonoran Desert off-road area on Cline Cabin Road in Tonto National Forest, off the Fort McDowell/Highway 87 corridor. The pin is 33°40'09.7"N 111°29'43.7"W on Google Maps. Arrive 15 minutes before your departure for check-in and the safety briefing. There are no restrooms at the trailhead.
Do I need ATV experience or a license? ▼
No prior ATV experience is needed; the machines are fully automatic and the guide coaches throttle, braking, and terrain handling. Drivers must be at least 16 years old with a valid driver's license, and every machine is single-rider with no tandem passengers. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory.
What are the sunset and desert realities? ▼
Departures follow the sunset through the year: 5 PM March through May, 5:30 PM June through August, 5 PM in September, 3:30 PM in October and February, and 3 PM November through January. The two-hour ride is paced to reach the high point for the evening light and returns to staging around sunset. Temperatures drop quickly once the sun is low, the trail is rough and dusty, and the guide monitors conditions and can reroute for weather. Pregnant guests are not permitted because of the jarring terrain.
What should I wear and bring? ▼
Closed-toe shoes are mandatory; no sandals or slides. Wear long pants and bring a light layer for the temperature drop after sundown, plus sunglasses and sunscreen. Bring a valid driver's license and a credit card for the vehicle pre-authorization. Helmet, goggles, neck gaiter, water, and snacks are provided.
What is this tour's cancellation and rescheduling policy? ▼
Strict 72-hour window. Send cancellations or changes in writing through our contact form; replies to your confirmation email cannot be processed. More than 72 hours out, you receive a full refund minus card processing fees; inside 72 hours or a no-show, the booking is charged in full. If 360 Adventures cancels for severe conditions, you receive a 100% refund including fees.
