What is the Private VIP Dune Buggy Tour?
A fully private 2-seat dune buggy expedition through the Sonoran Desert in the Tonto National Forest. Your group gets the trail to itself: a dedicated guide, a custom start time, and a route and pace tailored to you - no strangers on the trail.
How is the VIP tour different from the standard dune buggy tour?
The standard tour runs at fixed departure times and may include other guests on the trail. The VIP tour is your group only - a dedicated guide, a custom start time, and flexible pacing and stops, from crisp morning rides to golden-hour finishes.
What type of vehicles are used?
A private convoy of 2-seat Polaris sand buggies, built for off-road performance on rocky stretches, sandy washes, and canyon trails.
How long is the tour?
2+ hours on the trail, with additional time at check-in for gearing up and your private safety briefing.
Can we switch drivers during the tour?
Yes. The group swaps driver and passenger at the trail midpoint so everyone gets time behind the wheel - and on a private tour, your guide can accommodate extra stops whenever you want them.
BOOKING & PRICING
How much does the VIP tour cost?
From $349 per 2-seat buggy (two riders, one machine). Every private tour starts with a minimum of two buggies and scales to any group size. Contact us to confirm vehicles, group size, and your custom start time.
What is included?
A dedicated expert guide for your group only, your private convoy of 2-seat Polaris sand buggies with fuel, DOT-certified helmets, goggles, and a souvenir Face Gator, snacks and cold beverages, free action photos of your private run, and all Tonto National Forest trail permits.
Are there optional upgrades?
Yes. Optional upgrades include a premium snack package, a boxed-lunch option, and round-trip resort transportation.
What is the cancellation policy?
This tour has a 72-hour cancellation policy. Please read your confirmation email for details.
REQUIREMENTS
How old do you have to be to drive?
Drivers must be 16 or older with a valid driver's license. Passengers must be 8 years or older.
Do I need off-road experience?
No. Full instruction and a comprehensive safety and vehicle briefing are included before the ride, and your private guide sets the pace for your group the whole way.
Is there a group minimum?
Yes. A minimum of two 2-seat buggies is required per private tour. From there, the convoy scales to any group size.
What should I wear?
Closed-toe shoes are required. Wear clothes you don't mind getting dusty, and bring sunglasses and sunscreen.

When does the tour run?
Private tours run year-round with custom start times built around your day - from crisp morning rides to golden-hour sunset finishes. Tell us the day and time you have in mind, and we'll design the rest.
Where do we meet?
At our OHV staging area in the Tonto National Forest. Exact directions and your custom meeting time arrive with your confirmation.
Are there restrooms on the trail?
There are typically no restroom facilities on desert trails. Plan accordingly and use facilities before arriving at the staging area.
Do we get photos?
Yes - free action photos of your private run are captured by the team and included with every tour.
