What is the Scottsdale E-Bike, Hike & BBQ Adventure?
A full-day guided combination tour in North Scottsdale: a casual e-bike ride along paved roads and pathways at the foot of the McDowell Mountains, a guided nature walk in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, and lunch at a unique local eatery.
How long is the tour?
Approximately 4-4.5 hours total: 1.5-2 hours on the e-bike, 1.5-2 hours on the guided nature walk, plus lunch.
Is this a guided tour?
Yes. Professional safety-certified guides lead the entire experience - they run the pre-ride safety briefing and bike fitting and share insights throughout the ride and hike.
Is the tour educational?
Yes. Our guides provide expert insights into the Sonoran Desert ecosystem and the unique flora and fauna of the region during both the ride and the nature walk.
Do I need previous e-bike experience?
No. This is a beginner-level tour - the ride follows paved roads and pathways at a relaxed pace, and your guides provide instruction on e-bike operation.
What equipment is provided?
A casual e-bike, helmet, and gloves, plus bottled water and snacks. Insurance, permits, and entry fees are also included.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
What is the minimum age?
Guests must be at least 12 years old. Contact us for specific height requirements regarding the e-bikes.
What fitness level is required?
Moderate - guests should be comfortable with 1.5-2 hours of cycling on paved pathways and 1.5-2 hours of walking on the guided nature walk.
What footwear is required?
Closed-toe shoes are required for both the ride and the hike.
WHAT TO BRING & WHAT TO WEAR
What should I wear?
Comfortable athletic clothing suitable for both biking and hiking, plus sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen.
What should I bring?
Sun protection, any necessary personal medications, and a camera. A secure mounting for your camera is recommended for the ride.
WEATHER & SEASONAL CONDITIONS
When does the tour run?
The tour is available October through April, with tours running from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. It is not available May through September.

Is hotel transportation available?
Yes - transportation from your hotel is available as an add-on for an additional $295 per activity (up to 10 guests).
MEALS & AMENITIES

Yes - lunch at a unique local eatery is included in the tour price.
Are food and drinks provided during the tour?
Yes - bottled water and snacks are provided during the ride and the hike.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Can I bring a camera?
Yes - a camera is recommended. A secure mounting is recommended for the e-bike portion of the tour.
BOOKING & POLICIES
How much does the tour cost?
$249 per person for groups of 2-3 and $199 per person for groups of 4 or more. Groups of 8+ incur an automatic 15% gratuity.
Is there a minimum group size?
Yes - a 2-person minimum is required.
What group sizes do you accommodate?
Groups of 2 to 12 guests. Contact us for groups larger than 12.
Are reservations required?
Yes - reservations are required. Please book in advance to ensure guide availability.
Can I book a private tour?
Private tours may be available for an additional $200 per activity.
What is the cancellation policy?
This tour has a 72-hour cancellation policy. Please read your confirmation email for details.
Are gratuities included?
A 15% gratuity is automatically added for groups of 8 or more. For other group sizes guide gratuity is not included - never required, but always appreciated for great guiding.
