Grand Canyon South Rim Helicopter Flight & Scenic Ground Tour from Scottsdale

Grand Canyon South Rim Helicopter Flight & Scenic Ground Tour from Scottsdale

A Grand Canyon day trip usually means a trade-off: endure 8 to 10 hours of round-trip driving for a couple of hours at crowded overlooks. The Grand Canyon South Rim Helicopter Flight & Scenic Ground Tour from Scottsdale replaces the highway with a private narrated flight — then pairs it with a private guided tour of the South Rim's most scenic viewpoints.

The Driving Problem

The South Rim sits roughly 230 miles from Scottsdale. That's 4+ hours of one-way driving on I-17, through construction zones, past entrance gate lines, and into midday crowds. By the time most visitors arrive, they're tired, the light is harsh, and the canyon deserves better than a windshield view.

Fly Direct from Scottsdale

Board a private helicopter at Scottsdale Airport for a narrated flight over Sedona's red rock canyons, the Verde River Valley, Oak Creek Canyon, and the San Francisco Peaks. You arrive at the rim refreshed, with the flight itself as part of the sightseeing.

A Private Ground Tour of the Rim

Your pilot and aircraft stay on standby while a private guide and vehicle take you to the South Rim's most scenic viewpoints inside the national park. Step out and take in the views at your own pace, enjoy a fresh catered lunch with chilled refreshments, and spend roughly 4 hours at the rim — with minimal walking along paved viewing areas.

Who It's For

Multigenerational families, photographers, first-time canyon visitors, and time-short travelers. Physical demand is low — guests only need to step into and out of the aircraft and touring vehicle unassisted. Minimum age is 4, and pricing is per group: $11,466 for 1–3 guests or $11,571 for 4–5 guests.

Planning Details

The full experience runs approximately 7.5 to 8 hours, operates year-round weather permitting, with seasonal departures typically between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM. Cancellations must be made at least 5 days (120 hours) prior for a full refund. Bring a camera or smartphone, sun protection, and a valid government-issued photo ID.

Note for international guests: Starting January 1, 2026, a $100 per person Non-US Citizen/Resident National Park Entry Fee Surcharge applies for guests ages 16 and older unless they have purchased an America the Beautiful Non-Resident Annual Pass.
