Tour Itinerary

Your adventure begins at the seasonal departure location before traveling to a scenic wet slot canyon. After a brief orientation and gear fitting, your guide prepares the group for a dynamic day of canyon exploration. Once in the canyon, expect a mix of hiking, swimming, wading, scrambling, rappelling, and optional cliff jumping as you work your way through waterfalls, pools, and narrow canyon corridors. Each canyon route is selected based on water levels, weather conditions, and the group’s ability.

Total time in the canyon typically ranges from three to five hours depending on group size, pace, and route conditions.

Requirements

Skill Level: Beginner to Advanced; good overall fitness required
Minimum Age: 14 (ages 8–13 allowed on private tours)
Walking: Approximately 4 miles over uneven terrain while carrying a 20 lb pack
Elevation: Mountain and canyon terrain near Payson and Tonto Basin
Special Requirements: Guests must be able to swim without assistance or flotation devices and fit into harnesses up to a 42" waist

Important Notes

Reservations are required. Tours are limited to 10 guests; please call for larger groups. Helmets are worn for most of the tour, so hats are optional. Sunscreen is recommended and a waterproof camera is encouraged.
