Leave the civilized world behind and commit to the fall—literally. On this guided Arizona canyoneering tour, you aren't just a spectator; you're the engine. We trade the trail for the adrenaline of the rope, venturing into a remote canyon where the only way out is through. If you’ve ever wanted to see what lies at the bottom of a desert crack, this is your ticket.
Led by certified veteran guides, this hands-on expedition is the only way to access these hidden geological gems. Remember: once the first rappel is done, there is no turning back.
MORE DETAILS BELOW
We meet in the historic mining town of Globe, Arizona, where we’ll caravan out to the trailhead where we'll conduct a gear check and a "ground school" briefing. The approach hike is a masterclass in Sonoran Desert flora, this very short hike wanders through rugged terrain until the ground literally opens up beneath us. The guide will set the anchor and from there on out, you're in!!
The middle of the day is a rhythmic dance of rappelling, scrambling, and technical footwork. As you descend deeper, the temperature drops and the rock walls begin to "twist," showcasing millions of years of Arizona topography. We’ll break for snacks in the belly of the canyon, surrounded by silence that only exists in places this remote. After the final rappel, climb out of the canyon for a short hike back to the vehicle, finishing with the ultimate "climber’s high" and a camera full of "proof" before you head into town to refuel on Globe's legendary red chile.

This is a seasonal "sweet spot" adventure. We operate from October through April to avoid the desert heat, with morning departures (usually 8:00 AM) to maximize the best canyon light for your photos.
RESERVATIONS REQUIRED: Wear clothing that allows for a wide range of motion, and close-toe, high-friction shoes; the rock is "sticky" but can be abrasive. You should dress in layers, appropriate for the forecast. Temperatures can drop in the canyon. Remember: the canyon is a one-way street. Once you drop, you’re committed to the finish.
This tour has a 72-hour cancellation policy. Please see your confirmation email for details.
