Our guided Phoenix & Scotsdale river kayaking tours are the perfect way to cool off on a warm day in Arizona’s desert. Spend a relaxing morning paddling along lush green riverbanks and towering cliffs, keep alert for sightings of wild horses and bald eagles. Guided kayak tours on the Salt River are scheduled to avoid the crowds and are perfectly suited to take advantage of all the river has to offer, including refreshingly cool swimming and a unique perspective on the desert.
Lower Section (year round) - This enjoyable and relaxing float starts where the Verde River merges with the Lower Salt making this 3 mile tour available all year long.
Duration: Approximately 1.5-2 hours on the water.
Departs: Mesa, Arizona, on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 8:30am and 1:30pm in the winter months and 7:30am in the summer months. Alternative days/times available for special groups, please inquire.
Includes: Skilled & certified guide(s), tandem kayaks, paddles, safety equipment, snacks & bottled water, parking pass and roundtrip transportation from check-in to drop-in point.
Cost: 1 person - $340; 2-3 people - $170/person; 4-9 people - $136/person
Season: This tour is available year round but only morning departures are available in the summer.
Skill level: This is a relaxing float through the desert. Children must be a minimum of 12 years old and 4'6", and weigh at least 35lbs to go on a tour. Maximum weight 275 lbs.
Notes: RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. Required footwear: shoes that can get wet and will not fall off in the water (no flip flops or bare feet). Recommended attire includes a hat, clothing appropriate for the expected weather conditions, and sunscreen SPF 30 or higher. Don't forget a waterproof camera!
