Grand Canyon Tour with Grand Canyon Overnight

Experience sunrise and sunset at your leisure at the most majestic section of the Grand Canyon, the South Rim. This 2-day tour offers a chance to visit Sedona and view the world famous red rock formations as well as spend 24 hours at Grand Canyon National Park. Guests will also experience Historic Route 66 to enjoy a bygone era in American History.

This overnight tour departs Phoenix/Scottsdale at approximately 6:30am and returns the next day at approximately 7:30pm.

Day 1:
To see Arizona’s rich history, the Grand Canyon tour with an overnight stay gives you an chance to marvel at the spectacular landscapes of Sedona and the Grand Canyon, and explore local and Navajo artisans of Sedona. After departing the Phoenix-Scottsdale area at approximately 6:30am, Sedona will be our first stop along the tour. Guests will have a chance to photograph the famous red rocks, stretch their legs and take a quick walk around this picturesque town. While you are enjoying Sedona, your guide will pick up your gourmet picnic lunch made fresh that morning before departing to the Grand Canyon. Upon departing Sedona, the tour passes through Oak Creek Canyon, a scenic byway that winds through 2,000 vertical feet of a red walled canyon to emerge surrounded by the dense ponderosa pines of the Coconino National Forest.

Atop the Mogollon Rim, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff on our way to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Guests will enjoy the magnificent views that open up in front of them while standing on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. While at the South Rim of the National Park, you will have opportunities to walk the rim, shop, capture an unlimited number of photographs, or enjoy your lunch and relax with the best seat in the house. Your guide will assist you with your hotel check in and you will have the remainder of the day on your own to relax overlooking one of the Natural Wonders of the World. Lodging upgrades are available for an additional cost.

Overnight at or near Grand Canyon National Park, AZ

Day 2:
During the morning hours, you will have ample time on your own to relax, take sunrise photographs overlooking the Grand Canyon, or even do a morning hike. At approximately 1:45pm, your DETOURS guide will greet you at the front lobby of your Grand Canyon hotel to further explore the Canyon.

Additional tour highlights today will include a stop along historic Route 66 in Williams for a chance to experience this iconic American highway steeped in rich tradition. While in Williams, guests will have the opportunity to “get their kicks on Route 66” with walks along the original route, explore the local shops and capture souvenir photos highlighting a bygone era in classic Americana history. Also known as the Will Rodgers Highway, Route 66 is the most recognizable road in the United States and stretched 2,448 miles from Chicago to California upon completion.

Tours are charged in full at the time of booking.  A $150 non-refundable deposit is included in the tour's final price.

Notes:  RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. Fuel surcharge may apply.  If any of the guest's selected tour dates fall within Peak Season, the tour will be charged as such.  Sunscreen and hats are recommended.  Don't forget your camera!

*We offer door-to-door hotel pickup and drop off service to most hotels in Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe. Guests staying west of I-17, or in the east valley (Chandler, Mesa, etc), or at private residences will be asked to meet at a nearby pre-determined pickup location.

Cancellation Policy:  Multi-day tours have a 7 day cancellation policy.  If your plans change for any reason, please be sure to call at least 7 days prior to your tour start time to avoid charges.  Tours cancelled less than 7 days from the departure date will not be refunded.
