Whether you've been climbing indoors for years or you're new to the sport, this course provides the right balance of classroom and practical application to become a good "second" climber outdoors. Learn the basics of this thrilling outdoor sport: required and suggested gear and its care, knots, belaying, climbing technique, basic anchors, climbing communication and more. Our focus is on teaching you good habits so you can climb for a lifetime.
Duration: Full day
Includes: Permits & entry fees, skilled instructors, all ropes and anchor gear.
Cost: $295 per person, minimum 2. Single students add $100. Gear rentals are available for $20/kit. Transportation (when available): $50/solo; $95 for groups 2-3; $175 for groups 4-10.
Season: This class is available all year, weather dependent.
Skill level: Beginner to Intermediate - this course is perfect for first time climbers or those wanting to make the transition from indoor to outdoor climbing.
Notes: RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. Comfortable clothing that allows for a range of motion is recommended. Participants are required to have a helmet, harness, locking carabiner and belay device, and climbing shoes. (Rental gear is available.) Participants must wear appropriate closed-toe footwear to class.
