Whether you've been climbing indoors for years or you're new to the sport, this Scottsdale rock climbing course provides the right balance of classroom and practical application to become a good "second" climber outdoors. Outdoor rock climbing in Arizona is amazing and there are literally thousands of routes all over the state. But rock climbing is a very dangerous pursuit and when done wrong, you can die.

Duration: Full day
Departs: May-September: 6:00am-3:00pm; October-April: 8:00am-5:00pm; all courses take place at Tom's Thumb trailhead in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.
Includes: Permits & entry fees, skilled instructors, all ropes and anchor gear.
Cost: $295 per person, minimum 2. Gear rentals are available for $30/kit. Round trip transportation is as follows: 1-3 guests - $150; 4-12 guests - $350; 12+ - $550+
Season: This class is available all year, weather dependent.
Skill level: Beginner to Intermediate - this course is perfect for first time climbers or those wanting to make the transition from indoor to outdoor climbing. There is no minimum age, however children under 16 must have a parent present.
Notes: RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. Comfortable clothing that allows for a range of motion is recommended. Participants are required to have a helmet, harness, locking carabiner & belay device, and climbing shoes. (Rental gear is available.) Participants must wear appropriate closed-toe footwear to class. Guests must also bring their own water, snacks and lunch.
