Canyoneering, or canyoning, is a true adventure that just about anyone can do - no experience required. On this Arizona canyoneering adventure you'll find yourself hiking, scrambling, boulder hopping and rappelling as you descend through beautiful natural gorges. Canyons are dynamic environments that are constantly changing - the same canyon could be totally different from season to season.
Depending on the canyon, we'll meet you at the trailhead or a central rendezvous location. We'll gear up and make our way to the canyon. Once we're in, we can't turn around - the adventure is on!! This guided Arizona canyoning tour will be the most talked about portion of your visit to Scottsdale & Phoenix.
Duration: Full day - approximately 3-5 hours in the canyon, depending on group size & pace.
Includes: Permits & entry fees, skilled guide(s), all necessary adventure gear & safety equipment, water, snacks & day packs. You can add a custom boxed sandwich lunch for $15/person. Guides carry First Aid kits & cell phones.
Cost: $399/first person, $199/add'l person. Groups of 4 or more are $199/person. Private tours available for an additional fee of $250. Transportation from Phoenix/Scottsdale is $150/group 1-3; $250/group 4-10.
Season: October through March/April.
Skill level: Beginner to Advanced, but a good fitness level is required since this is a full-day adventure. Participants must be able hike at least one hour at a time over uneven terrain. Minimum age 14; groups with kids 8-13 must opt for a private tour. Turning around or pulling out is not an option. This tour is not recommended for guests with knee, hip or back issues. Please note that bees are often present in canyons.
Notes: RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. Canyoneering tours are usually group tours; private tours are available for an additional fee. Hat & sunscreen recommended. Don't forget your camera! Closed toe shoes are required.
