Intro to Outdoor Rock Climbing
Whether you've been climbing indoors for years or you're new to the sport, this two-day course provides the right balance of classroom and practical application to become a good "second" climber outdoors. Learn the basics of this thrilling outdoor sport: required and suggested gear and its care, knots, belaying, climbing technique, basic anchors, climbing communication and more. Our focus is on teaching you good habits so you can climb for a lifetime.

Departs: Phoenix/Scottsdale
Includes: Permits & entry fees, skilled instructors, all ropes and anchor gear.
Cost: $295 per person. Gear rental is available for an additional fee.

Skill level: Beginner to Intermediate
Notes: RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. Comfortable clothing that allows for a range of motion is recommended. Participants are required to have a helmet, harness, locking carabineer and belay device, and climbing shoes. (Rental gear is available.) Participants must wear appropriate closed-toe footwear to class, and are responsible for bringing their own lunch, snacks and water both days.
