The Apache Trail
Hop aboard a custom touring van for an unforgettable trip back in time along the Apache Trail, one of Arizona's scenic byways. Only minutes from the city, the Apache Trail is a true wilderness adventure and a perfect day in the Sonoran desert. Arizona's first designated "Historic Highway", this breathtaking road got its start as an Indian route and became the supply route for one of the first reclamation projects in the U.S., now a system of four desert lakes, the largest being formed by Roosevelt Dam at the end of the trail.
The full day tour takes you to the ancient ruins of the Tonto National Monument where visitors can see fingerprints left by the Salado Indians who inhabited the area over 700 years ago. Next, hold on to your hat as we slowly wind through Fish Creek hill for an unforgettable view of the Superstition Mountain Wilderness. Then on to colorful Tortilla Flat and the ghost town of Goldfield, where you’ll get picture perfect glimpses into Arizona's rambunctious past. The half day tour features only the southern portion of the trail, including Goldfield Ghost Town, Canyon Lake, Tortilla Flat and Fish Creek Canyon.
