The Apache Trail Scenic Tour

The Apache Trail is full of rich history – and by rich we mean it.  It was originally a trading route used by the Anasazi wanting to trade with the Hohokam, then eventually the Apache.  Then, it became a route likely used by old miners going into the Superstition mountains, and possibly even the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine.  Legends aside, it was a very important wagon road shuttling passengers and freight through the rugged Superstition Mountains. In 1905 it became an important road used in the construction of the Theodore Roosevelt Damn.  When you see the landscape, you won’t wonder how the natives escaped the cavalry.

This tour will showcase the history of the trail and will include iconic stops at Goldfield and Tortilla Flat.  You’ll also get to enjoy a steamboat ride on the picturesque Canyon Lake.
